POLY PRESENTATION COVERS
The New Material of Choice
Presentation covers have come a long way over the past 40 years taking their original design from the magazine covers many of us remember in the family doctor's office. Traditional paper and clear vinyl-like covers have recently been overshadowed by the increasing use of poly. Poly covers offer the advantage of being virtually indestructible, stain resistant and easily decorated with multiple design and processing options. The "high-tech" appearance presents a vivid image that every business now desires.
Every corporate image currently being produced on paper can easily be enhanced using poly as the substrate. In fact, the ability to print either or both sides of the translucent materials offers a capability not achievable on paper. Unlike paper, poly is available in multiple thicknesses to provide any level of perceived value. The variety of opaque colors and finishes allow the client numerous choices to display their image. Choosing natural polyethylene permits two-sided printing that offers the appearance of depth to the image, or for excellent contact clarity of the first page of the contents, clear polypropylene is the material of choice.
Poly offers many options for the eco-conscious consumer. Polyethylene is a number "2" recyclable material and polypropylene a number "5". In addition, polyethylene can be produced using a percentage of post-consumer regrinds generated from curb-side pickup. In addition, most poly waste generated in the extrusion and converting processes can be put right back into the production of these materials.
Poly materials have long been used for multiple information packaging applications where durability, longevity and security are pre-requisites. Poly has recently grown to be the material of choice by many package designers to allow for a brand development with a vivid corporate image. From loose leaf binders to sonic welded kits and tote boxes, poly is the material of choice. Presentation covers have now been added to that long list of products highly suitable for poly materials.
Durability, flexibility, versatility and sustainability are just a few of the many reasons why poly has become such a popular material of choice for presentation covers and beyond.
